After spending several hours playing this new Battlefield season, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it still delivers the formula I love: explosions everywhere, vehicles racing across the map, buildings collapsing, and matches that can go from an organized defense to complete chaos in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, I feel this season does not quite deliver the major leap the community was expecting.

The Best Parts of the Season

The first thing I noticed is that the game still has a very solid gameplay foundation. Shooting feels satisfying, the weapons sound powerful, and every encounter can turn into a massive battle. When the team plays together, Battlefield once again shows why it stands apart from faster, more straightforward shooters.

The new content adds variety, especially through the maps, weapons, and gameplay adjustments. However, the amount of new content feels somewhat limited for a season that promised to revitalize the experience.

The New Map

The new map has some great moments, especially when the match shifts between close-quarters combat and open battles involving vehicles. Some areas encourage tactical gameplay, while others turn into an all-out storm of bullets, explosions, and soldiers simply trying to survive.

My main issue is that the design does not always feel perfectly balanced. In some matches, certain sectors attract all the action while other areas are practically ignored. Once the opposing team takes control of the key positions, trying to regain ground can feel almost impossible.

Weapons and Gameplay

The new weapons are a good reason to come back, although not all of them truly change the way the game is played. Some feel highly competitive right from the start, while others seem destined to be overlooked in favor of the most popular loadouts.

Even so, I appreciate that the season maintains the classic Battlefield approach: choosing a class, adapting your loadout, and trying to fulfill a role within the squad. For me, the best matches are still the ones where I stop playing like a lone wolf and start working with my team.

Is It Worth Coming Back?

Yes, but with some reservations. If you already have Battlefield 6 installed, this season is worth trying because it offers new objectives, adjustments, and enough changes to keep you playing for a few more hours. The matches still deliver spectacular moments that no other shooter manages to recreate in quite the same way.

If you stopped playing because of the lack of content or technical problems, I am not sure this season will be enough to convince you to return permanently. The community is still asking for more maps, more weapons, and a more consistent overall experience.

New Battlefield Season is not a disaster, but it is not the definitive comeback many of us were hoping for either. I enjoy it; it gives me reasons to return, and I still experience epic moments in every match. However, I also feel that DICE could have taken a much bigger swing.

It is an entertaining season with solid foundations and some memorable moments, but it lacks the amount of content and personality needed to become an essential update. If you enjoy large-scale military shooters, I would give it a try—but I would keep my expectations in check and be prepared to suffer more than one defeat, as your team seems to be unaware of objectives.
